In support of our emerging interest in Airplanes, on the 17th March Preschool Two was treated to a special visit from Charise Savage from Air New Zealand. In preparation for this visit the children and I sat down and put together some questions we thought we could ask during the visit. From this Ruby and Spencer proudly volunteered to help type these questions up and read them out loud.
During the visit Ruby and Spencer stood confidently and asked Charise a variety of questions as everyone else listened intently to the answers.
Once we had finished our Question and Answer session, Charise ran us through a safety briefing for the airplanes she works on. The children all listened on in fascination eager to take a closer look at all the goodies she had brought for us to explore.
These included boarding passes, unaccompanied minor stickers, the new paper cups, and some yummy lollies. All of which have been great support for our in flight role playing.
A big thank you to Charise for taking her time to come share in her knowledge with us, I know this visit has had a great influence on all the children within the room. It has challenged our ideas surrounding being on an airplane and as a result we have had some great role playing experiences take place.
